How to Draw an Audi RS3

How to draw an Audi RS3: step-by-step tutorial

Step 1: Sketch the Audi RS3 shape

Start with the basic shape and using very smooth lines sketch the overall silhouette of the car. Audi RS3 has a very smooth body of a medium length. This car is not as long as Audi A6 or A8. Don’t draw any details on this stage.

Step 2: Sketch the wheel rimes

Now proceed to the bottom of the car and draw the Audi RS3 wheel arches using two semicircles of the same shape and size. The arches should be very large and powerful. Also, refine the bottom edges of the front and rear bumpers, giving them more smooth look.

Step 3: Add the lights and bumpers

The headlights of the RS3 are very complex and aggressive, with a lot of small details, but we will sketch only the most important. The rear lights are also very detailed and angular. After sketching the lights, detail the bumpers using similar sharp lines. Illustrate the front air intakes below the headlight and add angular shapes of the rear one. Also, add a small and thin spoiler above the trunk.

Step 4: Detail the top of the car

Now outline the roof using smooth lines. Draw the Audi RS3 window frame. It should be long and relatively narrow. Then draw in more detail the windshield and hood of the car, using similar smooth lines. Sketch an antenna on the roof of the car at the back. Step 5: Sketch the wheels and rimes

Inside the wheel arches from the previous steps sketch the wheels. These parts should have a perfectly round shape and should be equal in the size. Inside of each wheel draw another circle, which will illustrate the edge of the rime. Compare both wheels, making sure they are identical.

Step 6: Draw the Audi RS3 wheels

Cars have very different shape of rimes, so you are free to illustrate any pattern you want. But in any case, start with the central parts and draw small circles, then add spikes spreading around this central circle. You can simple rime patterns or choose more detailed and complicated.

Step 7: Add the mirror and handles

Sketch the side mirror with a turn signal on the front angle of the compact sports sedan’s window frame. Don’t forget to add the turn signal on the side edge of the mirror. Then, sketch the pillars inside the window frame with straight lines. After that, mark the door handles with the help of very short lines.

Step 8: Draw the Audi RS3 doors

Let’s detail the side of the car and sketch the doors. Clearly define the front and rear doors with smooth and clear lines. Define the back window and add the hood lines. To make your Audi RS3 drawing look more detailed, add some design lines to the body.

Step 9: Erase the construction lines and trace the sketch

Take an eraser and remove the construction lines from the first step and trace the essential lines of your Audi RS3 drawing with more dark and smooth lines. Also, it is a very good time to add some extra details, if you want to make your sketch look more realistic.

Step 10: Add hatching or color the car

And the final stage, where we will make the drawing even more realistic. To do this, you can add colors or hatching. Add highlights to the glass surfaces with fine hatching. Then, add hatching to the air intakes and black surfaces. Add shadows to the Audi drawing to make it look more convincing.
