How to Draw a Fire Truck

In this instruction, we will show you how to draw a fire truck – a special vehicle designed to help firefighters extinguish fires.

Despite the fact that this truck has a large number of details, we created the instruction in such a way that even a novice artist could learn how to draw a fire truck.

How to draw a fire truck: step-by-step tutorial

Step 1 – Outline the large fire truck body

Start drawing a fire truck by depicting the main outlines in the form of a large trapezoid. The lines of this stage should be light, barely visible.

Step 2 – Add the cab roof and bumper shape

Separate the cab from the cargo area. Next, go to the front and depict the hood and the visible side of the bumper. In the same stage, shape the cabin and cargo area.

Step 3 – Add the angular cab windows

Draw an angular window at the front of the cab. Depict the rest of the windows in the back of the cab. By the way, try to depict these details without a ruler.

Step 4 – Refine the fire truck cab shape

Use a few straight lines to depict the doors. To check the proportionality of the artwork, you can look at it through the rearview mirror.

Step 5 – Draw the wheel arches of the fire truck

Now use two long, curved lines to depict the wheel arches. Depict the details of the cargo area using straight lines. You can check the proportionality of the fire truck drawing by flipping it upside down.

Step 6 – Add hose reel, three lanterns, and roof light

Step 8 – Sketch the large wheels with round rims

Draw a circle in the center of each rim. Next, depict smaller circles around the center circles. They must be the same size and spaced the same distance from each other.

Step 10 – Clean the sketch and add finishing shadows
